Getting Started

Fill out our request form on the New Patients page, or give us a call. We will reach out within 24 hours to learn about your child's needs and walk you through the next steps. You do not need everything figured out before you reach out.

It is helpful to have your child's date of birth, insurance information, your child's primary care physician's name, and a brief description of your child's needs. But if you do not have all of this, reach out anyway and we will help you gather it.

The timeline depends on insurance authorization and physician coordination. Our team works as quickly as possible and handles all coordination on your behalf. We will keep you updated every step of the way.

Yes. Home health services require a physician order. We coordinate this directly with your child's doctor. If you have an established relationship with a pediatrician or specialist, we work with them.

Services and Care

It depends on your child's care plan, but a typical nursing visit includes health assessment, medication administration, medical procedure management, monitoring for any changes in condition, and parent education. The nurse works from a care plan developed with your child's physician.

Most therapy sessions are 45 to 60 minutes, though this varies based on your child's age, tolerance, and care plan. Sessions are scheduled at times that work for your family's routine.

Yes. A parent or guardian is typically required to be home during visits, especially for nursing care. Some families prefer to observe sessions; others use the time to rest or manage other responsibilities. We follow your lead.

Life with a medically complex child is unpredictable. We understand that. Contact your care coordinator as soon as possible and we will work with you to adjust the schedule.

Insurance and Medicaid

Yes. Georgia Medicaid is our primary payor. We accept Medicaid plainly and without qualification. There is no stigma around Medicaid at Georgia Pediatric Healthcare. It is how many of the families we serve receive coverage, and we are proud to accept it.

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) is a Medicaid-funded program that provides skilled nursing and personal care in the home for medically fragile children under 21 at no cost to qualifying families. Georgia Pediatric Healthcare handles the entire GAPP application process.

For families with children on active Georgia Medicaid or GAPP, covered services are provided at no cost. For private insurance, costs depend on your specific plan, deductible, and co-pay structure. Our team verifies your coverage before care begins so you know what to expect.

About Georgia Pediatric Healthcare

Yes. All Georgia Pediatric Healthcare nurses are licensed in the state of Georgia, either as Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses. Therapists are licensed in their respective disciplines. CNAs and aides are certified and supervised by our nursing team.

Georgia Pediatric Healthcare is a home-based agency. We bring care to you. We do not operate a clinic or facility that families visit. All of our services are delivered in your home, across Georgia.

We take matching seriously. We consider your child's medical needs, schedule, preferences, and personality when selecting a nurse or therapist. If a match is not working, we make adjustments. Your family's comfort and your child's progress are what matter.
